INTERNATIONAL CRUISE COUNCIL TAIWAN

In response to the rise of cruise tourism in Asia, many international cruise companies
have started to expand into the Asian market. Under supervision of the Tourist Bureau
of Taiwan, ICCT initiated the training program for cruise tour guides/managers,
and both Taiwan International Ports Corporation and international cruise lines are
in cooperation for the trainings. Furthermore, ICCT also scheduled several cruise
visits for its members. The Chairman of ICCT, Matthew Wu, arranged meetings with
the Country Director, Carnival PLC Taiwan, Freddie Hsu; Taiwan region general
manager and international representative of Royal Caribbean Cruises and Celebrity
Cruises, Teresa Lu; and General Manager Taiwan Branch, Star Cruises, Andy Lew.
Through the collaborative efforts of ICCT, government authority, Taiwan International
Ports Corporation and international cruise lines, top talents in Taiwan cruise tourism
were able to be developed. Thus far, ICCT has held 12 education trainings from
2015 to 2016. Not only were the trainings always full of students, but also the 1,500
professional cruise tour guides/managers that were produced gave new energy to the
industry.

principles with exclusive trainers
Arranged field trips to cruises for members
Set up courtesy meetings to various international cruise lines
